Heyy!
Today were going to be talking about Gilmore Girls - Long over due!
I have just finished watching all 360 minutes of the revival - again - and
here are my thoughts, opinions, and random mentions about 'Winter'.
The show opens with some favourite lines from the first 7 seasons such as:
~ "How many cups have you had this morning?
none
plus
five but yours is better"
~ "I got kissed! And I shoplifted!"
and
~ "I Smell Snow"
Just to name a few of the great quotes they have included in the revival
of what is, in my opinion, one of the best shows ever made, ever!
Lorelai and Rory meet at the gazebo in the tow square, where Rory is just off a
flight from London. The girls promptly share coffee, gifts, and food for their walk
about the town to quickly catch up on the goings on of Stars Hollow, and Rory get
her copy of the Stars Hollow gazette. Rory is home.
Rory has an absurd number of cell phones and nothing seems to be working for her,
Lorelai is living with Luke, and Emily is struggling to move on after Richard passed
on as well as holding a semi well deserves grudge with Lorelai for the things said at
Richards memorial.
Emily has commissioned a ginormous painting of Richard right by the drink cart,
wears jeans!!, gets into a fight with Lorelai where some incredibly hurtful things are
said, sees a therapist, and starts throwing away all things that give her no joy. Its a
rollercoaster.
The Gilmore matriarch has a whole slew of people move into her home speaking a
language no one has ever heard before - including a UN translator - Its nice to see
Emily change and be more caring towards her staff; however, on the other hand it
is very odd and completely unemily!
Rory is bouncing from place to place - London, New York, Stars Hollow - and
doesn'thave a concrete job. The young Gilmore girl is also hooking up with
Logan when in London despite the fact that the man is engaged! and she has
an oh so forgettable boyfriend Paul.
Rory's belonging are spread across loved ones houses - as she has no place
of her own - and she can't seem to locate anything she wants, namely her red dress.
Rory is trying to write a book with a crazy lady and it is not working out for her,
mostly because the lady is a bit scattered in her thoughts, and actually working on
the book.
Lorelai is still at the Dragonfly; however it appears as though her heart is no
longer in it, Sookie is gone, and Michele wants out to get more money for
the baby his husband may have 'ordered'. Luke has become bitter about a longer
list of things, and gives out a whole lot of wrong wifi passwords, but is still making
food in the diner on the corner for the hungry people of the little town in Connecticut.
Kirk and Lulu are thinking of babies, so doing what may be the best thing, the
town pulls together to buy the couple a little pink pig! Petal who is super cute! Kirk
starts ööö-ber, a sound which annoys Lorelai to the point of beaning Kirk with someone
else' bagels; however, ööö-ber is promptly ended when Kirk is contacted by Uber lawyers.
Paris makes a large splash into the first of four episodes by potentially setting
Luke and Lorelai up with a surrogacy baby - that turns out not to happen. Paris
is super successful, wildly smart, a mother(!) of two, and divorced from Doyle.
Lane is still married, Hep Alien is thriving, and Zach is odd, but wasn't he always.
That is a quick synopsis of the first episode of the revival!
Review time!
The girls are pretty much the same as they were when we left them in 2007.
The writers seem to be a little more free flowing with the language of the script
now that the show is on Netflix, but are still just the Gilmore Girls.
I am a little biased, I love this show and find that there is very little they could do
that I wouldn't watch over and over. Parts of the revival we're odd and I wasn't sure
I even liked the first time I watched it, but the second time I think I understand it better
I may not love every second but do we ever?
This is the cast we originally fell in love with in 2000, and now Amy Sherman Palladino
has finally gotten to take these girls home where she always knew they would end up.
What do you think? Did you love it? Hate it? Watch it? Let me know.

Heyy!
So today we are going to be talking about Taylor Swifts
new song 'look What You Made Me Do'.
I just listened to this song for the first time and I have to say
I am conflicted.
I really like parts of it the lyrics are good and the music works with
it; however, there also parts of the song that I would be totally okay
if they were not in the song.
The animation works with the song all the way through
and helps push the story along.
The video is primarily dark using greys and blacks, with bright
splashes of bright red, which I think also helps with the story.
Review Time!
I really do like most of this song I've been listening to Taylor Swift
music since before she changed her sound, but I'm just not sure about
this one. Parts of the song are repetitive and I personally am just not
all that into that kind of redundant sound, It's just the chorus that I
am not all that fussed on, I like the rest of the song although the ending
is a little odd.
Tell me what you think! Do you love it? Hate it? Haven't heard it?
Thanks for reading! I'll be back soon!

So today we're going to talk about a new Netflix movie 'To The Bone'.
This movie stars
Lili Collins as Ellen / Eli
Keanu Reeves as Dr. William Beckham
Alex Sharp as Luke
Just to name a few.
The movie is about 20 year old artist Ellen who is suffering with Anorexia. Ellen's step mother - Carrie Preston - gets Ellen a meeting with a Doctor who practices unconventional styles, trying to install in his youths that life is worth it, while also pushing buttons and boundaries.
Changing her name Eli slowly becomes friends with Luke the pair hang out more and more going through the drama of the house together until it's just too much to fast, and they stop talking.
In a flash of over emotion and pushing boundaries and buttons, Eli has had enough and packs up after a confrontation on the stairs with Luke - who is now facing the fact that he will never dance again, his dream - Eli takes off as fast as possible.
Eli buses out to Phoenix to be with her mom - Lili Taylor - and her mothers wife - Brooke Smith - who didn't want Eli in the first place. After climbing a small mountain in Phoenix and passing out Eli has a dream in which she comes to see how sickly she's become. Climbing back to town Eli goes home to LA, and back to the home with Dr. Beckham.
In the movie you never see Eli's dad he is always 'busy' with his new wife making excuses for him to the family.
Review time!
I really enjoyed this movie, I have never suffered with any of these problems, but I thought the acting was exceptional. I know that Lili Collins was able to draw from her personal past to help her with the character, but even without that I think the whole cast was excellently picked and worked well to portray a hot button topic into a great movie.
I would recommend this movie, but say that be careful if you have suffered with any of these topics. The movie does not push a lot of the problem front and centre yes they come up often, but they help drive the story line of young people trying to get better so they can live their lives.
The ending of the movie was a little odd but I enjoyed the whole thing thoroughly.
Have you seen it? What did you think? Let me know!

Review Time!
I love this book so much, it is amazing! One of, if not my favourite Cassandra Clare novel.
The story pulls you in close from the first sentence, and you can't help but become absorbed in the characters lives you want something good for Christina - possibly Diego - for the twins to figure out the puzzle, for Tavvy to come home safe, for Mark to forgive and love Kieran again, but most of all you want a loop pole on the shadow hunter law for Jules and Emma!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone! Even if you were not that big of a fan of the Mortal instruments I would seriously try this one. The book is a bit long clocking in at 668 pages but such a good read!
Its a great journey of a book and one I would highly consider reading if I were you :P
Tell me what you think! Do you agree? Did you hate it? Let me know!

Heyy!
It's been a while, but I'm back! and today we're going to be chatting about the new tv series "Riverdale"- a sort of spinoff from the 'Archie' comics.
This will have spoilers from the pilot but also thoughts I had while watching - I'm taking notes :P
The show has an eclectic cast starring:
K.J Apa as Archie Andrews
Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones
The first episode opens with a narration that you will later learn is by Jughead Jones, explaining the tragic events that happened that summer. Promptly moving to a shoot taking place in Betty's bedroom, Betty is getting ready to go out with Archie while she and Kevin discuss Andrews.
Cut to Veronica Lodge and Hermione Lodge moving into their new penthouse home in the small city of Riverdale so no 'The gang' didn't all grow up together as Veronica hails from New York City.
Veronica waltzes (not literally) into pops - where Betty and Archie are catching up - instantly stealing Archies attention off of Betty.
Veronica is the epitome of class, style, and subtly snobby rich kid; however when she leaves the room you can't help but feel bad for Betty due to Archie's obvious infatuation. Veronica is quick to drop a reference weather the people she's with knows what she's talking about or not
Archie habitually late.
Alice Cooper is intense about Betty's grades, and weather Betty needs them or not makes sure she has her ADHD medication.
Josies kind of jerk, but Kevin Keller is such a good character!
Ms Grundy isn't old but she did get it on in her Volkswagen with Archie! *gasp* that isn't teacher behaviour!
Why is no one together?! - Mr. & Mrs. Lodge or Mr. & Mrs. Andrews
Mrs. Grundy went to Juilliard?!
So Archie think they - himself and Grundy - heard gun shots the day of the accident; however, Ms. Grundy - who doesn't want to get in trouble - has convinced herself they were fire works. At 6 AM...
Why is Veronica wearing pearls and a gym outfit?...
WHAT?! is Veronica so desperate to be a cheerleader she's going to make out with Betty?! how is that your big finish if anything it would be distracting to the people your cheering for.
First Cheryl cares not about their kiss, she's just there to take Betty down second Cheryl is evil. I'm convinced.
Awesome.
Matching cheerleaders.
Does it really count as starting over if you tell someone your entire backstory?....
Turns out Veronica is a great friend to Betty, giving her the push she needed in all the right directions
Rejected by Archie but not if Veronica has anything to say about it!
WOAH! Betty stands up for herself and who is it against? Her mother! Apparently she reeeally wanted to be a cheerleader.
Trying to protect his family by sending large sums of money while still being a social outcast sweet or dumb, Mr. Lodge?
forcing your son to live your dreams. Bad Mr. Andrews!
Or maybe not ...
"Whatever you decide be confident enough in it that you don't have to lie" - Mr. Andrews
Spiking the punch cliche
Archie rejection, again! If he made up his mind this fast all the time there would be one comic book.
Cheryl = Evil.
Archie can be oblivious, but what is Veronica doing?!
NOOOOO!!!! BETRAYAL!! NEW FRIEND BETRAYAL!!!
I'm not buying your self doubt speech, not today sir.
Oh man plot twist!!
Review time!
Okay so first of all the cast isn't what I thought it would be at all, but somehow it works, not with the comic series, but almost a separate entity all on its own the only thing they did was borrow some characters, but even with that being said they still morphed them a little into something malleable that they could work with in their show. Its brilliant.
A great mystery plaguing a small town and wrapping together the lives of the characters you've loves since you were little, the show has great story lines and has defiantly peaked my interest! There is something so great about seeing some of your favourite cartoons being brought to life, and how much - even now - you really like this world their re-bringing to life with a great set of people playing your favourites.
I will be watching the show and keeping up to date with it! but tell me what you think! Have you watched it? Have you even heard of it? Do you even like Archie? Let me know!

Heyy!
So today we're going to talk about mental health.
This can be a touchy subject, and people tend to shy away from anything to do with what could be going on inside of someone else's brain, but I think we need to discuss this more often, if we could help someone why would we not want to talk about it.
I know the stigma surrounding mental health "issues" causes people to look at others as though it is a bad thing they choose to have. People aren't freaks because they can't cope, they aren't losers because they avoid the rambunctious parties they are dealing with the hand they have been dealt and doing the best they can.
I myself battle daily with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I know thats quite a few, and some days are really hard to handle, I don't want to leave my bed or face the day, and sometimes thats okay, but more often than not you do have to get up there are things to be done and it's time to face the music, so begrudgingly I leave the house, but I'm in no mood to deal with anything - or anyone - people don't know whats wrong but they give me a wide birth when in actuality all I want - besides the comfort of my room - is to ask whats wrong, listen, and maybe a hug. It's not that hard, but sometimes it feels like you're asking for the moon.
Mental illness presents itself in many different forms, and I wouldn't be surprised if more people than you would have guessed deal with a form of this in their daily lives. So given the fact that so many are afflicted, shouldn't we be just a little more accepting of the conditions?
I thoroughly dislike the saying everything happens for a reason I find it wildly unhelpful; however, I also believe in that saying and happen to feel it is very true. If nothing had a reason for happening it just happened Why would we be here, what would we be working towards and if it didn't happen for a reason why wouldn't we get everything we wanted?
I think this also applies to the mental illness you may or may not suffer with on a daily basis.
Your life is a book - in a weird cheesy way of saying it - and everything you fight through today will just better - and maybe inspire - your tomorrow, or maybe inspire someone else to live long enough to see their tomorrow. If we can all be so ready to help the homeless why can't we all be ready to jump in and help those who don't know where to start to help themselves.
Now it's not so much a review as an opinion :)
The subject of mental health has been a dark subject for so long that people aren't even sure really what it means anymore. It's not just a stigmatism anymore its a reality for at least 20% of Canadians approximately 8% of all Canadian adults will deal with major depression alone, if it affects that many people shouldn't it be our right to arm ourselves with all the knowledge we can on the topic, because I don't know about you guys but no school I've ever gone to has even brushed on the subject!
Some facts!
Despite being treatable - medication, therapy - 49% of Canadians who have had problems with depression have not been to see anyone about the problems
24% of deaths in people aged 15-24 is suicide related, 16% in the ages between 24-44
roughly 10-20% of youth in Canada is affected by some form of mental illness - This is the most disabling group of disorders NATION WIDE!
So if its this common why aren't we doing our part to help, better yet why is it only now in the last 5-6 years that the topic has even come up of concern at all?
Let me know your thoughts and opinions!
